The weighting stones are placed on the vegetables in the pot for the purpose of compression during the fermentation process. The division into two makes it possible to cover a larger area than the opening of the fermentation pot allows. The stones are made of stoneware (high-quality ceramics), which has a very low pore density. In this respect, their use is far more hygienic than the traditional use of wooden boards and textiles.
The weighting stones are easy to clean with warm water.

TIP: If the stone is a bit too small for your chosen pot, simply cover the shaved herb with two herb leaves after pounding and place the weighting stone on top. The weight of the stones is distributed over the entire surface by the herb leaves.
